Erected in 1712 on the ruins of an older church, it suffered several extension and renovation works; today it is an imposing building, situated in the center of Zalău, on a hill.
Due to is size (1600 places) it occupies, among reformed churches, the second place in the Eastern part of Central Europe. The Church owns an organ (from 1906), and inside the Church, on occasion, concerts are held.
The clock, still functional, dates back to the beginning of the XXth century.
