THE TRACK AT CIRESI - OR "HUNTER'S GLADE"

TRACK BLUE DOT WITH MARKERS YELLOW DOT AND RED CROSS LENGTH: 3-4 KM OF DURATION: 11/2- 21/2HOURS
The track begins at the entrance in BRADET now arranged as an amusement park for children. We are starting to climb the pedestrian road. We go through BRADET among paths, bridges, playgrounds for children and 20 minutes after we get out of the main road. We are engaging carefully on the right-hand side. On the right the landscape to Valea Morii opens - where houses start to show. To the left a wide glade allows us to look towards the valley of Zalau where the last houses can be seen and over the hilltop looms a lowland-it is the Mass named "Craiului". In front of us and to the right is the main top of the Meses mountains. From left to right we see the tops Magura Stanii -716 m (with two relays), the hight of 705 m (with an antenna) then the smaller Mezesul of 599 m and Monastery of 625m and to the right Osoiu mic (868 m) and Osoiu Mare (874m) (on the map originated). Following the highway after another 20 minutes we reach the separation of the markers. On the way back to the cottage (MESES) to the left we have the tracks RED CROSS for CARIERA STANA and YELLOW DOT for “Izvorul Salamandrelor”. We are following the road and after 300 m we reach a road to the right marked by an indicating arrow where we continue our path. In front of my eyes appears the source of the MILL Valley sprinkled with clearings, large areas of fruit trees that has given its name: "At the cherries" We pursue our journey, following the marking down on alternating forests and clearings, where we can note forms of relief known to those who want to go touring, steep slopes, wetlands, valley crossings, combs in descent, steep climbs and clearings, some glades to the left and to the right, real oases of light for making breaks, playing ball, having dinner, sun-bathing and spending time in nature. After 11/2 h from the time of departure we arrive to a big clearing where at the entrance the arrow points to the right; we must be careful since the markers are on the left edge. We go across the valley and we enter the clearing in a steep climb with few markers and we exit to a meadow where we have no markers at all. After crossing the meadow at the northern edge of the clearing we find the marker which on a high road takes us to the right among houses and orchards at the point where we left the high way. We follow the road-and the marker is this time on the left-hand side in the direction of our walk -until we reach the exit in Bradet. It's been 2 hours after our departure, but we didn't realize it.

RED DOT TRIP-LEVEL 705

LENGTH: 4-5 KM OF DURATION: 2-2 1/2
The marker panel is mounted at the entrance of the forest near a barrier that prohibits access by car.
We are at an altitude of 605 m. On a wide, comfortable and easy climb, 100 m afterwards, we enter the hilltop. Here we join the blue tape path that goes up to the top Osoiu (874 m) - Mag Priei (997 m) and Hunters. We continue for another 100 m on the Roman road and our path follows the forest road to the right in slow descent. To the left the blue tape path disappears and we find the loop for return on our path. We follow the forest road in descent, to the right there are deep valleys, characteristic for the crystalline shale in this area: these are, in fact the spring and the affluents of the valley called of the " Mill". On the right side as we go up we notice the more and more high ridge of MESESULUI which goes until the level of 705 m, in fact following the breach of defense of the Roman Empire towards the North-West. To our left side used to live the free Dacians called by the Romans 'barbarians", and on the right, beyond the ridge stretched the Roman Empire. We go through successive valleys, we pass by a beautiful source which requires arranging and has a place of rest, we go over a ridge on a downward slope and find some clearings along the way. The walk is relaxing and after 1 1 h from the time of departure we turn on the left side of a ridge in ascendance. In slight uphill after 200 m we find again the blue tape which goes down the ridge on the left and follows faithfully the breach of defense (to the right) towards OSOIU. We notice how obvious it is in this area, the breach of defense raised on the side of the Roman Empire and the ditch which was 4 m deep on the barbarians' side. In some places, in the higher areas were raised towers of defense made of rock in which lived and watched on a rota basis 8 soldiers. In the side of TIHAU and up to Bologa 30 such towers have been discovered so far. We are following the red dot in front of us and to the left which on easy roads, over sources, gets us closer to the highway to Buciumi looming to our right after approximately 1 km. The road is growing stronger and 1 km afterwards gets us out to the blue tape marker, to the place where we began our journey.

SPRING OF SALAMANDERS PATH MARKER: YELLOW DOT

The track starts in Bradet. The description of the first part can be found on the track of "The cherries" because they are the same. From the separation of tracks we climb to the Meses cottage and after 800 m an arrow points left. On the forest path marked by yellow dot, there is a desolate coast road through a terribly cut area and after 2 km we come to a deep valley. A sharp curve to the left leads us on a smooth climb to the next cliff. From this point the forest becomes again a quiet oasis. On the right seems to be the main crest. On the left we've gone through a series of valleys which are affluents to Zalau. Now the ridge towards which we're climbing is the watershed from the northern slope between the valleys of Zalau and the Valley Ortelec. After another 500-600 m an arrow indicates us to leave the forest path and to take on a footpath which in 600 m leads us to a beautiful source which requires arranging. Here in the old days there were hundreds of salamandres. Now probably cuts, microclimate or man have made them run away. There are just a few left. After a well-deserved camping, we pursue the climbing past a cut-grown already-and 600 m after we touch the ridge on which we find the red band marker to the left at the Castrum from Porolissum (1 hour). We are following a crest to the right guided by the red band, and after 1 km of climbing on a peak we reach the saddle Stanii, a place marked with arrows who tell us that up to Zalau we still have a little more than an hour. We go down on steep roads gouged deeply into the ground and after 300 m we see the cottage Meses, actually a great stone cottage built on the initiative and with the contribution of the teachers from Salaj, therefore its correct name would have been "Teachers' Lodge". But traditions and local custom have kept the name of the cottage Meses, Pioneers' cottage or Camps. We go down on the forest path for 1.3 km and we get down to the main road and from here to the right, 1 km from the departure point of the marker.
